In its millenary run from
Schwarzwald to the Black Sea, the
“Euro Danube”
because Bulgaria and Romania
are part of the Danubian region of Europe, and “Danube” because the main
participants are representatives of countries, located along the big river that
unites and levels borders opening a way for joint initiatives, for development
of the countries economies, for trade, manufacture, services, cooperation of
companies from different countries, for finding common grounds between versatile
economic and scientific interests and carrying out long-term joint ventures.
An important fact is that Silistra can be reached and departed for

first exhibition was in 1991 under the patronage of the Mayor of Rousse with the
motto “ECOLOGICALLY CLEAN PLANET, 19 CENTURIES ROUSSE”. Then 300 000 ECU were
granted to Rousse for its fight for ecologically clean nature. Since 1998 it is
carried out under the auspices of the district governor of Rousse. The Japanese
Ambassador was present at the opening ceremony; since 1999 it is also under the
patronage of the Chairman of the Municipal Council. Since 2000 the ASSOCIATION
FOR PROMOTION OF TRADE, THE ASSOCIATION OF DANUBE MUNICIPALITIES “DANUBE”, THE
FOREIGN TRADE INSTITUTE, THE BULGARIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, THE CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY OF RUSSE, THE BULGARIAN – SWISS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, THE
BULGARIAN – RUSSIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY, BICCI, THE ITALIAN FOREIGN
TRADE INSTITUTE, THE TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION OF SCIENTIFIC UNIONS – ROUSSE, THE
UNIVERSITY OF ROUSSE “ANGEL KANCHEV” have been our partners.

the exhibition took place also in Silistra under the patronage of the Governors
of the District of Silistra and the
In 2004
the exhibition was resumed on the initiative of the District
Governor of Silistra Mr. Petko
Dobrev in the interest of supporting the economic progress in Silistra
region. Leading companies and firms from the regions,
2005 –
at the invitation of the mayor of Calarasi Mr. Nikolay Dragu and the Prefect Mr.
Janel Sherban the exhibition is held annually in Calarasi also.
2007 –
the exhibition is under the auspices of the EU on project PHARE RO
2005/017-535.01.01.12 for trans-border development of Calarasi and Silistra with
the Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture of Calarasi.

The
“EURO DANUBE” exhibitions have been opened by the Japanese Ambassador, the
General Consul of the Russian Federation Mihail Reva, Dr. Massimo Di
Giandomenicco – Director of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade and the
Commercial Advisor of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the
Chairman of the Municipal Council of Rousse, the Governors of the regions of
Silistra and Rousse, Prince Radu and others. Many seminars were carried out and
presentations were made by the Foreign Trade Institute – Sofia, the Executive
Agency for Promotion of Trade at the Ministry of Economy as well as by the
Center for Management and Company Development.
The
Ecology, a very important issue for all of us, is also conducive of the constant
expansion of the initiative because
alongside with high quality the organizers support the environmentally friendly
products that protect the water, air and soil from pollution. In that sense
special attention is paid to the new ecologically clean energy sources.

contracts, signed at the “EURO DANUBE” EXHIBITION give a chance for beneficial
trans-border cooperation to manufacturers and traders from the other European
countries.
