In its own millenary run from Schwarzwald to the Black Sea, the
Danube River laves the banks of
9 countries, and through
the Rhein-Main-Danube channel the number of countries grows to 13
and its borderline reaches the
North Sea… The enormous waterway with its cheap transport has been contributing
to the economic prosperity of that part of Europe. Germany and Austria are
highly developed countries. The Other
EURODANUBE" because the main participants are representatives of states, located
along the big river that unites and erases borders by opening a way for joint
initiatives, for development of economies of the states, for trade, manufacture,
services, cooperation of companies from different states, for finding common
grounds between versatile economic and scientific interests and carrying out
long-term joint ventures. The fact of importance is that Silistra may be reached
by land, air and water and then depart for Europe . Three important European
transport corridors cross it - by land, water and air.. .
The first exhibition was in 1991 under the patronage of
the Mayor of Rousse with the motto “ECOLOGICALLY CLEAN PLANET, 19 CENTURIES
ROUSSE”. Then 300 000 ECU were granted to Rousse for its fight for ecologically
clean nature. Since 1998 it has been carried out under the auspices of the
district governor of Rousse. The Japanese ambassador was present on the opening
ceremony; since 1999 it has been also under the patronage of the Chairman of
the Municipal Council. Since 2001 the ASSOCIATION FOR PROMOTION OF TRADE AT THE M.E.,
ASSOCIATION OF DANUBE MUNICIPALITIES, the
FOREIGN TRADE INSTITUTE – Sofia, the ECONOMIC CHAMBER OF ROUSSE, the BULGARIAN
– RUSSIAN TRADE AND INDUSTRIAL CHAMBER, BICCI, BULGARIAN TRADE AND INDUSTRIAL CHAMBER, the ITALIAN
FOREIGN TRADE INSTITUTE, the TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION OF SCIENTIFIC UNIONS –
ROUSSE, the ANGEL KANCHEV UNIVERSITY OF ROUSSE have been our partners.
In 2000 the exhibition took place also in Silistra
under the patronage of the Governors of the District of Silistra and the Kalarash Prefecture – Romania, with the active
assistance of the Association for Regional development of the District of
Silistra, with the participation of economic organizations from both states.
Then 22 companies established partnerships for future joint activity. A
trans-border contract for long-term cooperation was signed, discussions were
held for development of the local business with the participation of
representatives of the Association for Regional Development, the American
Agency for International Development, Foundation for Reforms and Local
Self-governing, FLAG Programme, Bulgarian Economic Chamber, Agency for Small
and Medium-sized Enterprises, Foreign Investments Agency. The contracs were signed.
In 2004 , exhibitions have been opened by initiative of
the District
of Silistra in interests of
economy progress in that region. In the exhibition took part companies and firms from the regions, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, England and etc.
The EURO DANUBE exhibitions have been opened by
the Japanese ambassador, the General Consul of the Russian Federation Mihail
Reva, Dr. Massimo Di Giandomenicco – Director of the Italian Institute for
Foreign Trade and the Commercial Advisor of the Embassy of the Republic of
Poland, the Chairman of the Municipal Council of Rousse, the governor of region Silistra
and
Rousse. Many seminars were carried out and a presentations were
made by the Foreign Trade Institute – Sofia, the Executive Agency for Promotion
of Trade at the Ministry of Economy, TUV – Rheinland Consult Bulgaria Ltd as well as by the
Center for Management and Company Development.
The Ecology theme , a very important issue for all of us , is also conducive of the constant expansion of the initiative,
organizers support the environmental friendly products that protect from
pollution the water, the air and the soil. In that sense special attention is
paid to the new ecologically clean energy sources
The motto of the exhibition is: “Nature has given us a
river that unites and connects us . Let
take the given us
chance wisely”.
Is there anything better than the meeting of all Danube
states at EURO DANUBE. Why not, other states may also participate and find
their partners here. The development of useful business contacts has always
been a guarantee for cooperation between the states in other fields too – in the
social, scientific, cultural and art spheres.
Contracts, signed at the EURO DANUBE EXHIBITION give
chance to manufacturers and traders from
the other European countries for beneficial
trans-border cooperation.
